We miss you Kyle.Love,All your friends1.Katrina Turzinski--I never you knew Kyle, but i know his half brother John Smaggacz and I'm am very sorry for their loss.Freight train strikes, kills teenagerA 17-year-old boy was struck and killed by a freight train this morning near a crossing in West Chicago, delaying some Metra commuter trains for nearly an hour, authorities said.The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of Washington and Wood Streets in the downtown area of the western suburb, said Lt. Jason Day of the West Chicago Fire Department.A 123-car Union Pacific coal train traveling from Chicago to Wyoming struck the victim, railroad company spokesman James Barnes said. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.Authorities identified the victim as Kyle Hobday, 17, of West Chicago.Information on how the teen was struck was not immediately available, according to West Chicago police Cmdr. Mike Uplegger. He said the area where the accident occurred is not a street crossing, but is easily accessible by pedestrians. City and railroad police were investigating.Metra spokesman Tom Miller said two commuter trains of the Union Pacific West Line were affected.Train No. 44, inbound to downtown Chicago from Elburn, was stopped for nearly an hour as authorities investigated, Miller said. He said the train resumed its route shortly before noon and arrived downtown 51 minutes late.Train No. 29, outbound to Elburn from Chicago, was delayed about 40 minutes and ended its run in West Chicago, Miller said. Passengers heading for Geneva or Elburn were picked up about an hour later by the next westbound train.Metra resumed its normal schedule this afternoon.Barnes said the Union Pacific was offering counseling to members of the train crew who may have been traumatized.
